Some Pictures Taken towards Sunset

These were taken just now in early February. The garden has pretty much returned and is starting to really look good. I've been clearing the land behind the house and we have a lot more space. The top picture I took from the roof of the house. The middle one shows our view of Mojácar and the bottom one looks east towards the sea.

Unique Selling Points

USPs, or 'Unique Selling Points':
The propery is at the foot of 'Old Mojácar', which in Roman times was known as 'Sacred Mountain' or 'Mons Sacra' (the name 'Mojácar is a 'bastardised' version).
The property is large, at 7,900 square metres, and the land is flat.
It is in a rare (for Mojácar) quiet zone yet only a ten minute walk to the village or, of course, a half-hour walk to the sea. No discos or hotels nearby.
Many rooms, high ceilings, several peaceful terraces, a mature garden and an embarrassingly large swimming pool.
Cheap taxes.
There aren't many places like this, and fewer still for sale.

Here's how the house looks today. I've also found a short video of Mojácar on YouTube.

Los Arcos, Mojácar

The house is on around 7,900 square metres of land and is spread out below the pueblo in the huerta, at the foot of the magic mountain of Old Mojácar. It is surrounded by a mature garden (planted over 40 years ago) and has eucalyptus, together with fruit and nut trees - orange, grapefruit, pomegranate, olive and pistaccio. Other trees and bushes include carob, jacaranda, acacia, 'false pepper', oriental willow, yucca, magnolia, palm, aloe vera and bouganvilla.

There is a swimming pool and pool house, an aviary and a kennel. The house has a gravel entrance and parking.

The house (280m2 inside) is mainly one storey, surrounded by a covered and arched terrace (90m2). There is one commanding bedroom upstairs with its own terrace. Downstairs there are twelve rooms, including a large kitchen with an industrial stove, two bathrooms and one shower/toilet. Office, store-room, formal dining room, sitting room, television/library, two bedrooms, changing room. Two open fire places, one wood burning stove. Thick walls keep the house relatively cool. Tiled floors and high ceilings throughout.

There is a large private back terrace surrounded by garden.

The pool was 'designed in feet and built in metres' making it rather large at 7 x 17 metres. It has a pool house (with wet-bar), folding beds and separate shower and toilet. BBQ by the pool. All separately fenced.
Satellite TV (Canal +), telephone, mains water and electric.
Quiet area - spread out and wealthy neighbourhood. Far (yet close) from bars, shops and restaurants. 10 mins walk to village and 30 min walk (3 min drive) to beach (either by dry river bed or road).

Price:: 800,000 euros.
